The condition is characterized by the sudden onset of extreme confusion, panic, hallucinations, tremors, convulsions, catatonia, seizures, aggression, heart arrhythmia, coma, and death. What Is Benzodiazepine Detox?

Tolerance and Withdrawal
Longer-acting benzodiazepines like Klonopin (clonazepam) can stay in the system longer, which means it can be one to two days or even longer before withdrawal symptoms start. Short-acting benzodiazepines are much more likely to cause rebound symptoms. In fact, if you take your medication every other day, you may notice rebound symptoms on the day between doses. Severe symptoms of benzodiazepine withdrawal can be prevented by gradually tapering the dosage of a person’s benzodiazepine drug over the course of several weeks. Management of inhalant withdrawal
